There is simply no way to detain human ingenuity; when we get a good idea (or at least when the smarter, more creative ones amongst us do), we can run with it to no end, giving rise to countless new innovations over the course of time. And, when the cause is so noble and necessary as that of home security, there's simply no telling what extent of brilliance developers and inventors might reach. All one needs to do is look at the last decade of innovation in the field of security technologies and systems to give credibility to these claims: these past ten years have witnessed enormous and ground-breaking advances that have benefited home owners and security company subscribers so profoundly that it is hard to describe with mere words (we'll try anyways). And, as such innovations take their course and become ever more numerous and important, the cost of such security technologies inevitably comes down, representing another major benefit for the home owners and security subscribers mentioned above. So, in honor of the incredible brilliance of the human mind and the age-old priority (correction: top priority) of guaranteeing actual and measurable security around the home, here we'd like to address what we consider to be the three most clever and advisable security ideas of the moment.
1. The home security appliance control system. The first idea on the list had to be the most incredible bit of technology out there on the security market at the moment (other kinds of ingenuity and creativity also exist, and are addressed below). Having an appliance control system in place inside your home will give you an incredible variety of security benefits that can easily be programmed and set on a regular schedule. Essentially, through the control of every kind of appliance you may have in your home that is plugged into a socket, you can, for example, have light fixtures come on and off automatically at given hours of the day (an invaluable tool which will allow you to keep up the appearance of an occupied home even when the whole family is out), activate your alarm remotely or at a given time of the day, and even have your appliance schedules adapt to changes in sunrise and sunset due to daylight savings. All in all, a home security appliance control system is your ticket to a smart home, and a smart home is much easier to implement security in than a dumb home.
2. Digital video recorder devices. The CCTV security camera recording system that you have always had in mind finally doesn't imply the bother of logging tape after tape, all of which need lots of space to be stored. With digital recordings, you can get a decent quality image and keep all your recordings on space-saving hard drives, all of which means much more order. You never know when a video recording of an incident may come in handy, either to submit as evidence in court to reclaim property or to determine other security related issues.
3. Tireless determination. We had to end with a twist, though the reality is that this idea never goes out of style or utility in relation to home security. Ultimately, if you don't put a constant effort into maintaining security levels and assuming the many responsibilities of being a home owner and head of household, you will always be exposed to more risks than necessary.
