The latest surveillance cameras, home safety and automation systems will headline the security products at the China Sourcing Fair: Electronics in Shanghai.

Major Greater China suppliers of surveillance cameras, car security, home safety and automation systems are gathering in Shanghai from June 2 to 4 for the China Sourcing Fair: Electronics. The specialized sourcing event, which will be held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, will showcase the latest and most cost-competitive security products.

CCTV specialists will be displaying a range of surveillance cameras. Product selections will include bullet CCD, dome, boxed, UFO, wide dynamic range, outdoor weather-resistant, high-speed and even dummy cameras. Video-capture cards, standalone DVRs and portable recorders supporting the latest encoding algorithms will also be featured to complement the surveillance lineup.

Rearview cameras with or without parking sensors bundled will likewise be exhibited. Other automotive safety products expected to drive interest are GPS-tracked mobile DVRs, eye cameras for large vehicles, multifunction rearview monitors and multiplexers.

Buyers looking for IP cameras can expect to see models with high-sensitivity CCD/CMOS sensors, night vision, remote pan/tilt, built-in microphone, motion detection, H.264 video compression and flash memory storage. More sophisticated models support Wi-Fi- and/or mobile network connectivity.

The latest anti-theft alarm and smart home control systems will be exhibited as well. Many units will be based on wireless technologies and operable by remote control. GSM connectivity is enabled in top releases, and PSTN can be found in lower-priced versions. Some suppliers are integrating flash-based recording capability. Systems for both home and enterprise applications will be on display.

For home surveillance, a variety of DIY wireless units will be put on view. These kits combine inconspicuous, miniature cameras and support 900MHz or 2.4GHz RF wireless transmission. They have RCA output on the receiver for video display on a regular TV. Buyers can select from single-channel, multichannel, night vision-capable and audio-monitoring versions.

Visitors to the show can likewise sample more advanced multicamera kits, receivers integrated into color TFT monitors, and models that support USB connection and video recording. OEM/ODM specialists will recommend pairing wireless cameras with USB dongles and mobile phone receivers.

Aside from complete systems, suppliers are showcasing home security starter kits. Some single-unit devices to be introduced boast multiple security functions. These include motion detectors with built-in alarm, cameras with integrated video recorder, and strobe lights with voice alarm.

Suppliers of other electronics products including consumer electronics, telecom and wireless devices, GPS gadgets, in-car electronics and various accessories are participating in the three-day fair.
